Blessed be God!
IMAGINING HOW???? Can I imagine? I usually say to myself, "If I can see it in my mind and desire it with all my heart, I can do it with the power of the Holy Spirit working in me". This applies either to do a bulletin board, a lesson plan, planning a retreat, etc. I truly believe in the powerful use of imagination can transform many things.
I also try to challenge my students to use theirs "by nurturing". I know they are the generations who were born in a world where many things are just given for them.
However, I do not believe that "there is no need for them to conceive anything on their own". They are capable to use the new resources that they have. I am amazed when I ask them to do a project where I told them it has to creative and meaningful for them, how they come up with videos, movies, power points, games, songs, etc all create them by their own.
But YES...we as a teachers have to create these opportunities for them...I believe it is more meaningful. ( One of my students who just graduated this year and he was my student in sixth grade told me, "Sister, I still remember what I learned about China because we did Chinapolis")
It takes a lot of hard work to do all this, but at the end it is worthy... And the Holy Spirit always guide us"
"...It requires a pattern of PERSISTENT ENGAGEMENT AND EFFORT..."
Blessed be God!
ReplyDeleteDear Sr. Elo,
I have told you many times; I admire you!!!!!!!
We both started teaching full time at the same time in the same great school, OLGA! We survived the first year of teaching helping each other and of course being help by the best friend, our beloved Jesus!
I know you do everything you can to help your students! I know you are creative! I know you are funny! The art of teaching is in your blood!
I rejoice in all the things you have accomplished in such a short time, and I pray God will continue to bless you in every project you do so that you may keep giving light and life to your students!
I love you!
God bless!
If we are able to discern the work of the Holy Spirit, we can be excellent and creative educators. This ability comes to us through strong belief and hard work as you have rightly pointed out.
